Volunteer at IGNITION Festival

  • In consideration for being permitted by Ignite Event Management, LLC (hereinafter called “IEM”) to participate in IGNITION 2016, Volunteer agrees that Volunteer, for itself and for anyone entitled to act on its behalf, waives and releases IEM, its owners, agents, members, directors, lessors and all sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of Volunteer’s participation in IGNITION 2016. As such, Volunteer also agrees to defend, indemnify and forever hold harmless IEM, of and from any and all possible claims which may be asserted by Volunteer, or anyone acting on Volunteer’s behalf.

    Volunteer also agrees to be solely liability to third parties for any and all liability arising out of Volunteer’s participation in IGNTION 2016. As such, Volunteer agrees to defend, indemnify and forever hold harmless IEM, of and from any and all possible claims which may be asserted by third parties, or anyone acting on behalf of a third party, for any and all liability arising out of Volunteer’s participation in IGNTION 2016.

    Volunteer further agrees that Volunteer is an independent contractor and not an employee of IEM. As such, IEM is not responsible for any Worker’s Compensation and/or work related injuries sustained by Volunteer during IGNTION 2016.

    Volunteer knows that participating in an outdoor festival like IGNITION 2016, is a potentially hazardous activity and understands that there are certain inherent dangers related to attending such an event, including property loss or damage, personal or bodily injury, serious injury or death. Volunteer agrees not to participate in IGNITION 2016 and its related activities unless Volunteer is medically able and properly prepared. Volunteer agrees to bring enough food, water, shelter and first aid to survive for the duration of Volunteer’s attendance, which may include four whole days and three nights. All firearms, fireworks, rockets and other explosives are prohibited. Only Volunteers over the age of 21 may bring alcoholic beverages into IGNITION 2016. Volunteers and their possessions, including automobiles and RV’s, will be searched and any prohibited items will be confiscated without compensation. Volunteer agrees to abide by any rules, regulations or decisions made by the organizers of IGNITION 2016 relative to the activities necessary to safely participate in this event’s activities, which include but are not limited to: camping, surviving and caring for itself over a three day period and the burning of several structures, Volunteer assumes all risks associated with participating in all aspects of the IGNITION 2016, including, but not limited to, falling, fatigue, physical injuries, contact with other attendees, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity and/or cold temperatures and/or rain, and all such risks being known and appreciated by Volunteer. IGNITION 2016 is not liable for any acts of God, or actions taken by governmental agencies.

    Volunteer agrees that the laws of the State of Louisiana shall apply to this agreement in all respects, including conflicts of law. Additionally, Volunteer agrees that any unresolved dispute arising out of this agreement shall be brought in the form of a lawsuit in Civil District Court for Orleans Parish, Louisiana.

    Volunteer has carefully read this release and fully understand its contents. Volunteer is aware that this is a release, hold harmless and indemnity agreement between Volunteer and IEM and thus signs it of Volunteer’s own free will.
